We're getting into our final weeks of summer now...
Saturday we celebrated Great Grandma's 92nd a couple days early and Sunday we jumped in the van (we still haven't figured out how to pack the van well for camping) and headed to Silver Falls. We seem to get to the park about every-other-year, but it's been six years since we camped there
- and it POURED that year, so it wasn't the best memory. (For the record, here
are also some other super-cute pictures from there in 2009.)
Maybe it's just the fact that the boys are older now, but by the end we were wondering why we don't come back there every summer!
We hiked the Trail of Ten Falls (over 6 miles) and Carson did over 14 miles on his bike in one day. All that in addition to swimming and some other adventures along the way. (Nolan's poor toe was a bit sore by the end, but he was holding up pretty well overall.) The weather has been so hot that all campfires were banned, but the trip worked really well and I think it's safe to say we'll be back. So nice to have this gem of a park so close to home!
