Day 1 of a (pseudo) family vacation and we're back in Astoria for the second weekend in a row.
Last weekend was a little overwhelming for a specific member of Team Burke who does not enjoy crowds and pressure, so we started our Long beach stay by returning to some of the Goonies sites, like the Oregon Film History museum. For fans of the show, this is the building where the jail-break scene is filmed at the beginning of the movie. Today it serves as a shrine to movies that have been filmed in Oregon, allows guests to film their own movies in front of a green-screen, and is home to the Goonies SUV with the bullet holes.
Next we tracked down the trolley (which we spotted last weekend, but was way too crowded for us) and then went through the Maritime Museum, showcasing the maritime history of Astoria and the Columbia River.
This one's for poppy (cross out "hot" and it's my life growing up. OK, maybe just summers)...
